About the Association
The Daunish Cultural Association is an independent, nonprofit cultural and educational association based in Tracy, California, founded by and for the Afghan immigrant community of the Central Valley — with programs open to all, without discrimination.
What we stand for
- Education and literacy for women, youth, and families
- Preserving Afghan cultural, linguistic, and moral heritage
- Youth development, mentoring, and healthy living
- Oral history, exhibitions, lectures, and support for artists and scholars
- Peace, tolerance, dialogue, and service to the wider community
Governance
The Association is governed by a 13-member Board of Directors elected for two-year terms, supported by standing committees for culture and education, finance, youth, communications, and community outreach.
Nonprofit status
The Daunish Cultural Association is a 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 80-0390801). Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
